The step-by-step system to show up with confidence and make meaningful impact
Develop your leadership presence to make a positive contribution and create a roadmap to success & fulfillment.
You've heard it before.
"All you need to do to advance your career is..."
stand out.
speak up.
get noticed.
But that’s not easy when you're overworked & getting in your own head worrying about other people’s expectations
You’re smart & accomplished, and you worked hard (and went into debt!) to get your graduate degree to be an expert in your field. You've been working for over a decade now and you have a solid reputation as a subject matter expert, because you always knock your projects out of the park.
Your boss tells you how impressive your work is, and you feel good about your relationships with your colleagues.
You have dreams to rise to a VP role, but you're working way too many hours, you STILL haven’t been promoted, and you’re not sure what went wrong.
Tell me if this sounds familiar
- Intellectually you know people value your opinion but you still hold back in meetings, scared to say something wrong.
- You have a good relationship with your boss but you still can't stop your mind from going over (and over and over) even the tiniest mistake, wondering what your next performance review will say.
- You keep on top of your work, but you struggle to prioritize and often feel overwhelmed, working long hours to make sure everything gets done, because you love getting “gold stars” & checking those achievement boxes off your to-do list.
- You make time for family, friends and yoga, but you lay awake at night because you worry you’ll get stuck in your current role and never get higher pay.
- You know you have a killer resume, but you find yourself not quite believing you're the same person in that resume.
- You do great work, but when things hit the fan, you find yourself pacing back and forth outside, out of breath from anxiety, because you wonder if this is when they figure out that you’re actually a total fraud.
- You're utterly devoted to your family, but you feel guilty about applying for a promotion right now because you worry that you can’t become a leader while still getting home in time for dinner.
- You want people to take you seriously at work, but you don’t want to been seen as authoritative (hello, you don’t want to come across as a b****).
You know that you’re smart, capable and accomplished.
- You know you have a TON of good qualities that would make you a great leader.
- You KNOW that it’s time for you to FEEL that same confidence in EVERY professional situation.

Here’s what professional life will look like after the Bootcamp.
Calm
You’re fully present your personal life because you'll know that things at work are under control.
Confident
You'll speak up in meetings & take risks to advance your career because you'll know how to react when impostor syndrome creeps in.
Influential
You’ll feel comfortable taking on a leadership role while staying true to your personality because you'll know how to be your authentic self when influencing the people around you.

I know that it feels like you should read every leadership book, get someone to give you advice, or go back to school for an MBA to advance your career.
I felt that way too, thinking I needed another piece of paper to prove I was good enough to be a leader.
Then I discovered that being a leader is more than learning theory in a classroom - it’s about showing up in the real world with YOUR unique leadership strengths.

I had my pick from a range of opportunities
I had secured a dream job in Washington DC but was aware that I had only a limited few years to establish myself in that job, consolidate my career and position myself to have opportunities in my field when I returned to my home country.
I struggled to balance my own career needs and long term goals with the day to day demands of the role, and needed help prioritizing my time.
I felt that I had too many things to do and not enough time. I also had a young family, so I needed to be super focused with the limited time that I had.
Liz helped me identify my strengths, helped me plan, and provided the external accountability & support I needed to stay focused on my goals.
Thanks to her support, when I returned to my home country, I had my pick from a range of opportunities.

I got the promotion!
I felt stuck in my career. I was doing the work of a position without the authority or the benefits, and I didn't believe that I had what it took to be officially in the position. I felt angry and frustrated.
The tools in Liz's course helped me to connect with myself, my purpose and my values. After finishing, I was not only clearer in where I wanted my career to go, but I was able to lead myself and set boundaries that led me to get the promotion.
I now feel empowered and capable to do the work. I learned that in order to be a successful leader I needed to be myself. I also feel happier as I balance my roles and help my team to do the same as we get the results.

I'm a better manager
I was having imposter syndrome from a lack of confidence in my skillset, presentation, and ability to communicate with people at higher levels.
It felt exhausting and impossible to overcome.
I enjoyed the group approach coaching - we each did individual work and also brought our own experiences to the group.
I now feel much less anxiety and more comfort in my role and what I bring to the table.
I know that I am good at what I do and that I bring a lot to the table, which has made me a better manager.
This is why I created
Mint Ambition

You’ll get rid of the stress and anxiety at work and instead get your career moving and finally break through the glass ceiling.
I know it seems like you’re already doing everything possible and there’s not really much else to do but wait for your boss to notice your good work or get a degree that proves you’re ready to move up.

A session with Liz gives me a "lift" for the rest of the week
I was struggling with finding my voice in conversations at work when I wished to voice a differing opinion or disagreement with a large group or someone at a higher level than me.
It was fun to work with Liz because I was able to take an hour, in the middle of a stressful time, to delve deep into what I am struggling with at work and what is in my control to change.
After the session, I realized that I am putting a lot of pressure on myself to say the exact right thing, and I'm silencing myself before I get to even try to speak out. I'm now more aware of my inner critic at these times of low confidence in conversation.
I now have the tools to ask questions and offer ideas without feeling self-conscious. Instead, I feel confident that I am doing my best to improve my work and my team's work.
Liz is masterful at getting me to think out loud to realize that a solution was in me all along! She helps me see the internal forces that are holding me back, and she poses different tools and exercises to help me more aware of these at the moment and work to counter the negative thoughts and feelings in the longer term.
I always feel more confident after a session with Liz. I feel it gives me a "lift" for the rest of the week, as I am more actively reflecting and putting tactics we discussed in motion.
Liz gave me my evenings and weekends back!
Before we worked together, I was overwhelmed - I was working a lot and was struggling to prioritize.
I had so much to do and sometimes felt paralyzed by it all.
My perfectionism meant I had a hard time delegating, because I worried what would happen if I gave up control.
I now have clarity around how to prioritize, and I've been able to take time off to spend with my family!

I was amazed at how quickly I was able to resolve some of my biggest challenges
I was professionally successful, with a loving partner and great friendships.
But I still felt conflicted inside, like I was trying to do everything well, so I couldn’t focus on what was most important.
Our sessions always lead to incredible breakthroughs, and I was amazed at how quickly I was able to resolve some of my biggest challenges.

I realized how much the situation was having a psychological and physical effect on my person and knew I needed to get out of the situation.
Working with Liz, I felt shifts in my energy. I would almost describe it as stagnation breaking up and I am feeling lighter. It’s like yoga for the brain!
Now I’m feeling confident about my leadership, my boss has noticed and is expanding my role to take on more responsibilities!

Hi, I'm Liz!

I get it, I’ve been there.
I came blazing out of high school and university with top marks and entered the work world with big plans. I quickly learned that there was so much more to success than being a high achiever.
I still remember the day I walked back to my computer after struggling to connect with one of my colleagues who just didn’t seem to care about my opinion.
I sat there, staring at my ever-growing inbox, and I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. I spent hours overthinking what I was doing and what people thought about me.
Turns out, I wasn't doing anything "wrong".
After studying leadership development, I became a certified leadership coach and I spearheaded a Lean In Leadership Skills circle. Through it all, I figured out that some of us face different leadership and communication challenges because we get stuck between two problems: dealing with any impostor syndrome or confidence “stuff” (that men have too, btw!) AND dealing with all of the unconscious bias, expectations and impostor messages that we receive in the workplace.
This is why I created the Bootcamp - it’s a unique program designed to help you tap into your natural leadership style so you banish impostor thoughts --- while recognizing that there are very real gender biases out there.

Weekly Activities
Each week starts on Sunday with a 20-30 minute video explaining the topic and giving you actionable work that you can finish with about 15 minutes of work each day. This will help keep you engaged with the material, so that you stay on track to achieve your Mint Ambition

Group Coaching Calls
Then on Saturday morning, we meet at 10:00 am EST via Zoom for a 90 minute group coaching call. You'll have a chance to share your new insights, learn from the group and get professional coaching to help you go even deeper into the week's material

Peer Support
You'll have access to a private chat group for Bootcamp participants, where you can stay connected between calls. You'll also be invited to several informal 'coffee chats' with the peer mentors. This will help keep you connected & accountable to the group to make sure you finish the program successfully!

What happens after I enroll?
After you sign up, three things happen.
One - I'll pop the confetti and do a happy dance - because it tells me that here's one more woman who's ready to advance her career!
Two - as the confetti falls all around me, I'll send you the instructions on how the group meets using a Zoom web meeting room (you can connect by computer or phone).
Three - I'll also send you a Google Doc with your Leadership Discovery Survey (LDS) so you can start getting to work even before the first group call!
When does Bootcamp start?
The next round of Bootcamp is April 2022.
What day & time are the group sessions?
Sessions run on Saturday mornings from 10 am to 11:30 am ET.
Is it really possible to experience dramatic growth in career planning and improvement in confidence in a relatively short amount of time?
Yes!
It's because we're doing two things at once - giving you the foundations to improve your confidence AND linking it to your career growth. As long as you take what you learn and continue to apply it after the class, you'll have dramatic growth.
(I can't promise you that you'll be promoted in 8 weeks, but it's going to set the foundation for that promotion... And very likely you'll apply for a promotion much sooner and with a ton of confidence)
How much time should I budget?
You’ll need 90 minutes for the coaching calls, and about 15-20 minutes each workday for your homework reflections. The rest of the work will happen organically during your day at work - which means you’re going to become a better leader even BEFORE you finish the program. Plus, one thing I hear from clients all the time is that once you take control of your own energy, you’ll get MORE done in LESS time.
What happens if I can’t make it to a week’s session?
I know that life can get tricky to be available every Saturday morning.
All calls are recorded so you can catch up on your time, if you have to miss a session. You can miss up to two sessions and still receive your certificate of completion.
This is also a great opportunity to have a conversation with your family, spouse or friends about your need to focus on yourself for a bit.
Do other people really feel the way I do at work?
1000% .
This program is eye-opening for everyone to realize that no matter the industry or organization, they all were having similar experiences and inner dialogues.
Money’s a little tight right now… I’m not sure I can afford this.
I understand what it’s like to have financial responsibilities and feel like you can’t afford the very thing that will help you get a bigger paycheque.
Because of this, I offer a payment plan to spread out the cost, making it about the price of a latte a day.
Plus, by working on your career right now, you’ll get promoted faster, making this an investment that’s going to pay you back sooner than if you wait for your boss to start the promotion process.
I'm interested, but I want my boss to pay for it - is that possible?
Yes! In fact, I highly encourage you to talk to your boss about professional development opportunities like this for two reasons:
One is that there's research showing that your boss actually sees your improvements much faster by telling her that you're improving, than if you wait and hope she notices on her own.
Second is that compared to my corporate rates (it'd cost over $2000 for a similar program in a corporate setting), this is an outstanding opportunity.
How can I advocate to my manager to pay for this?
Great question!
Most organizations have a budget of around $1000 per person, so this would fit well within a professional development budget.
Let me know how I can support you in having this conversation - send me a quick note and I can help you craft the email or plan the conversation with your boss. I *promise* that she will not judge you or be upset that you're asking for development support - she'll in fact be impressed that you're taking your development into your own hands.
Is it awkward to participate in a group session?
We use Zoom for a video group call, which could feel awkward the very first time, but the group gets really comfortable with each other pretty soon, because everyone is sharing and learning about each other. There's a lot of connection happening right from the start. I promise, this is like no Zoom meeting you've ever attended :)
I have to admit, I don't really know what to talk about in a coaching session, will I look dumb?
Not even a tiny little bit. If you've never worked with a coach before, it's completely natural to not be sure where to start or what to talk about. That's why you have me
I'm a certified professional coach and I have hundreds of hours of experience in coaching individuals and groups. This means that I have all the tools to guide the conversation when you're not sure what to ask.
Plus.... it's a group program, so you won't be on the hot seat the whole time
This all sounds great, Liz, but how does it REALLY work? What is coaching REALLY like?
One of my clients described it the best - she told me that coaching is like yoga for the brain.
Bottom line is that I know that with all of the rushing back and forth every day, trying to get #allthethingsdone, it's hard to make time to really stop, think and focus on self-development.
And maybe no one ever taught you how to get to know yourself, truly and deeply, so that you feel confident and powerful, without worrying what everyone else thinks.
It's this deep inner power that you're going to grow from the bootcamp. I'm going to walk you through it step-by-step. It's giving you the space and support to feel confident developing your unique leadership style & authentic voice.
Get in the next round of Mint Ambition Bootcamp and start slaying your inner critic so you can advance your career.
I now feel like I can give strong first impressions without having to sacrifice my values
I came to coaching because I felt like I wasn't giving strong first impressions as a leader, due to a combination of warmth, friendliness, my petite size, and my gender.
I was worried that I might discover that there is not much I can do to address my concern.
After working with Liz, I now have a tangible but manageable task ("homework") to work on that will help me prepare for future first encounters and for developing a more accurate, fair, and truthful view of myself in the workplace.
What I really appreciated about Liz was feeling like I was being truly heard and understood. She was obviously listening very attentively to the things I was describing, so much so that she was able to read between the lines and redirect my attention to some important details that I was missing.
I now feel like I can give strong first impressions without having to sacrifice values that are important to me -- this was my goal, and I'm delighted to have arrived at it.
I wasn't satisfied with my work-life balance and felt I was just living for the weekends.
Before working with Liz, I wasn't satisfied with my work-life balance and felt I was just living for the weekends. I knew that I wanted a change, but I wasn't sure how to bring more balance, happiness, enjoyment and satisfaction into my life. It was at this point that a life coach, Liz, came into my life, at just the right time.
At first I was concerned that I might not have the time to commit or that the cost of such sessions would be too much.
After speaking with Liz, I gained a better understanding of what life coaches are and how they can help you achieve success in whatever your endeavors may be. I really felt like this was the missing piece that I needed to help me achieve the balance I was searching for.
I decided to jump in and haven't looked back. Not only has Liz helped me to better understand myself, but she has helped me to achieve successes in both my personal and professional life. I've not only had a coach, but a cheerleader which has propelled me to a happier place, with a healthier work life balance.
The time commitment and the cost of sessions, that I was initially concerned about, were worth the investment. The investment in myself is paying dividends, my only regret is not having signed up with a life coach sooner!
While I enjoyed my work, it wasn’t fulfilling me the way it had in the past
Fifteen years into a successful professional career spanning two fields across two levels of government, I found myself at a crossroads. The time had come to determine what the next phase of my professional life would look like. I could start seriously pursuing promotional opportunities, but I felt a nagging hesitation.
While I enjoyed my work, it wasn’t fulfilling me the way it had in the past. I felt like there were more challenges out there for me to tackle and that the time might be right for me to consider a different path.
I had always wanted to be a writer, and had a small personal blog for a few years. I had been thinking about making a serious effort at freelance and fiction writing, but had never really been able to create a plan for what a professional writing endeavour would look like.
It was at around that time that I learned that Liz was offering personal leadership and development coaching. Even though I wasn’t really sure what to expect, I thought that working with a coach would be a great opportunity to explore where my strengths and motivations really lie.
I had thought that working with a coach meant going through the coach’s specific leadership program, which would have been great. But working with Liz was actually much better than that.
One of my biggest surprises was how much she tailored the experience to me and my needs right from the beginning. She determined what level of prodding and feedback I wanted, and she was really fantastic at listening to me speak and picking up on things that I needed to explore more.
She offered resources and exercises that were helpful and useful. Most importantly, she is both professional and extremely warm and kind at the same time. I had some very vulnerable moments, and Liz treated them with the care and respect that I needed.
Coming out of the experience, I have a clearer vision for how I am going to pursue a writing career, and I have had the confidence to take the concrete steps to get started. I don’t feel “stuck” any more, I know that I have options and where I’m going from here.
I highly recommend coaching with Liz, for whatever goals you want to pursue.
I'm in a new position (promotion, created for me) and got a pay rise!
Having recently turned 40 and after ten years with the same management consulting firm, I was beginning to get itchy feet.
I felt overworked, underappreciated, and started to wonder if greener fields existed perhaps in another job or field. I looked around for other jobs, but nothing was feeling quite right and I felt torn about whether to leave my current job, just for the sake of leaving and making a change. There are many things that are great about my current job - including colleagues.
However, there are so many resources out there telling you to push yourself and try new things, and I always associated this with a major change - new job, new city, new me...
Many of the resources Liz provided helped me think about options to be more content without jumping into a new job somewhere unknown, doing something I didn't really want. I re-considered my options to stay with my current employer. I re-considered my attitude towards work. I opened up my thinking on what else I could do with my company.
I ended up having an open conversation with my colleagues about how I was feeling, which was great for everyone. I'm in a new position (promotion, created for me) and got a pay rise! As a result, I look forward to starting a new position, tailored to the needs for the company and my own interests. It will mean new challenges and growth opportunities, but keeping all the things I love about my current situation.
Thanks for the support Liz!
I will be coming back as a manager after my maternity leave!
I had been working for the same organization for the last four years. I have consistently had great reviews and received salary increases. However, that has not come with a senior title. I was struggling with having lots of responsibilities without authority.
I was pregnant and about to hit my third trimester, and thought it may pose a challenge in asking for a higher title. One of my family members did not think I should ask for a promotion since I was about to have a baby and that I should focus on my pregnancy and baby.
I had a performance review, which went really well, and I was mulling over it for weeks. I got a merit-based salary increase, and I wanted to advocate myself to also get a promotion. I decided to schedule a meeting with my manager to ask for a promotion.
Liz's process was helpful for me to get clarity of my goals and how I wanted to structure the conversation with my supervisor. Liz talked me through all the scenarios that could occur during the conversation with my manager.
Going into the conversation, I was well prepared and confident about getting the promotion.
My manager was supportive and said that I will be coming back as a manager after my maternity leave!
If you are mid-career and are looking to transition into a senior role, you'd greatly benefit from working with Liz. She has very positive energy, and she is able to motivate and instill confidence in people.
Liz has got your back!
She has crafted her art
I appreciate the clarity, focus, and actionable leadership development from my discussions with Liz.
She has crafted her art, so well honed by active listening and coaching expertise, along with evidence-based research in emotional intelligence, leadership, and women's career development.
Even after one conversation, I have already discovered the change to be visible to myself, family, and work members.
